  • Hi all,

    My site is

My theme’s CSS uses @font-face to code fonts. I read a very comprehensive tutorial at Nice Web Type and I think I have a grip on how to use it. However, I can’t seem to get it to work on my site. Currently, the font that appears is “Miso” and when I look at the style sheet from the live site (using Tools>Web Developer>Style Editor on my version of Firefox), I can see that the @font-face code calls for the Miso font. However, on my version of the CSS on my hard drive as well as the one I can access when I log in to WordPress, it calls for “Pottery Barn,” the font I am trying to embed and use.

What is it that I’m not doing correctly? Why does it seem that my edits of the CSS files aren’t taking, and how can I access them?

    I really appreciate any help!

  • It is currently showing the correct pottery barn font for me. Doing a find in the CSS shows no Miso font.

This is probably a caching issue.

When developing (actually all the time), I have both Chrome and Firefox set to disable caching since when I develop it can be annoying and it is good for noticing slow loading sites.

A lot of people also have issues with plugins meant to increase WP’s speed, which also cache on their end and need to be cleared to show changes. Doesn’t look like you are using one.

You were exactly right! Just a caching issue. Of course, now I decided to throw out the entire theme, but it was neat to learn how the @font-family code worked.

    Really appreciate the reply!
