Support » Theme: Graphene » [Theme: Graphene] Fix for gap in header link

  • If you use header text and link the header to the homepage there is a gap in the link where the h1 and h2 are. You can fix this by editing header.php and moving this code:

    <?php if ($graphene_settings['link_header_img']) : ?>
            <a href="<?php echo home_url(); ?>" id="header_img_link" title="<?php esc_attr_e('Go back to the front page', 'graphene'); ?>"> </a>
            <?php endif; ?>

    Down under this:

    <?php echo '<'.$desc_tag; ?> <?php echo $style; ?> class="header_desc push_1 grid_15">
    			<?php bloginfo('description'); ?>
            </<?php echo $desc_tag; ?>>

  • Yes, but that change will be overwritten the next time you update the theme. It’s better to control that with custom CSS or a child theme.

    Yes it will be overwritten when you update. How could you fix it with CSS? z-index?

    Edit: It is fixable using a z-index. Thanks for getting me to see that.

    I just did:

    z-index: 100

    Hi there.

    I am using a custom image in the header

    Any idea how I can change the width and height of the header? and also make it a href link back to the index page for navigation purposes?

    James, go to Graphene Options > Display > Header Display Options > Header Image Height. There’s also an option to link the header image to the front page there.
