[Theme: Graphene] Comments are password protected

  • I’m not sure if it’s part of the theme or a plugin I installed, but I don’t recalling seeing it there before switching from the Suffusion theme. There are two boxes in the comments section, one with a code and one where the code is supposed to be copy/pasted. My readers (who like to comment) hate captcha and I have been trying for days to get rid of this. Anyone know how? I tried looking in the Editor for the comments area, thinking I could delete the code for it, but that did’t work.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

Thanks for the quick reply, I just switched from the Suffusion theme to Graphene. The plugins in there now (only 4) show they are not activated. Would a plugin used in the other theme “transfer over”, but not show up in the plugins section anymore? I don’t want to try switching to Twenty Eleven only because I have a custom design and don’t want to risk having to put everything back together again. KWIM?

Are you talking about plugins or widgets? Plugins are completely independent of themes. widgets have to be set up on a theme-by-theme basis.

Switching to Twenty Eleven will not affect any settings in your other themes.
