# Theme Gone

 * Here is the issue:
 * I backed up my word press files to my harddrive.
 * Are my settings saved in these files or are they in my database?
 * The database was cleared out due to a major error with a table.
 * I intalled a clean copy of my backup word press files, but have been unable to
   load my site as I had it before the databse tables were all deleted.

 * I need to know if I can my site to recogize the settings and return to how it
   was, that is unless there was vital information saved in the database tables 
   which will force me to start anew.

 * All of your site “Data” is stored in the “Database”. By “Data” I am referring
   to your site content (e.g. posts text, page text, etc…). The “appearance” of 
   your site, are in your “theme” files. If you downloaded all of the files from
   your server to your local machine. You are able to restore the “appearance” of
   your site.
 * Unfortunately, if you did not create a backup of your database, all of your “
   content” has been lost.

 * Settings are all stored in the database, except for a few very basic settings
   which are set in wp-config.php.
 * So unless you backed up your database with your files, you’ll have to be starting
   over.

 * Ok, so my database was not backed up. Do you think my webhost has back up copies
   or snapshots saved?
 * The other thing is where are my comments, blog posts, and other things? Are they
   saved with the word press files I back up or were they all on the database?
 * I have no problem rebuilding, but if the content of messages is gone, then that
   is lot more work.

 * ALL content is stored in the database.
 * your host might have a recent backup. you’ll have to check with them, though.
