Support » Fixing WordPress » Theme Editor window doing weird things in MSIE

  • The Theme Editor is doing a couple weird things in MSIE, but was however working fine in Mozilla Firefox on a different computer when I tried it there. In MSIE, the Theme Editor window is loading way down the page below the “Post Template” link, instead of right next to the left side of the “‘WordPress Default’ theme files” links, leaving a huge blank space to the left where the editor window should be.

Whenever I perform any editing function in the editor window, the scrollbar disappears and it bounces open up all the way across to the right, partially off the right edge of the monitor screen.

  • This is a problem with textareas and IE.

    I face the same problem.

I suggest using Notepad or Notepad++ or a similar editor to edit your theme and then copy paste the same in the text-editor.

That is the approach I follow, and with Notepad++ editting of PHP files is a lot easier 🙂

I am able to do my editing in the Theme Editor with no problems. I’m just wondering if this is an MSIE bug. Maybe a bug fix will soon be released.
