# Theme editor update error

 * Hi all,
 * I’m getting an error when i try to update any page using the theme editor even
   though all permissions have been set to 777… here’s the error i’m getting:
 * > PHP Warning: fopen(C:\Program Files\Ensim\Sitedata\weemel\Inetpub\wwwroot/wp-
   > content/themes/default/style.css) [function.fopen]: failed to create stream:
   > Permission denied in C:\Program Files\Ensim\Sitedata\weemel\Inetpub\wwwroot\
   > wp-admin\theme-editor.php on line 49 PHP Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument
   > is not a valid stream resource in C:\Program Files\Ensim\Sitedata\weemel\Inetpub\
   > wwwroot\wp-admin\theme-editor.php on line 50 PHP Warning: fclose(): supplied
   > argument is not a valid stream resource in C:\Program Files\Ensim\Sitedata\
   > weemel\Inetpub\wwwroot\wp-admin\theme-editor.php on line 51 PHP Warning: Cannot
   > modify header information – headers already sent in C:\Program Files\Ensim\
   > Sitedata\weemel\Inetpub\wwwroot\wp-admin\theme-editor.php on line 52
 * It’s probably a simple problem since no one else seems to have it, but i can’t
   work out what it is… can anyone help? Thanks!

 * Check the permissions of your files/folders.
    The first error says that a file
   cannot be opened/written to.

 * I’m getting the same error =( it just started happening an hour ago.. don’t know
   what’s wrong, geh. All of a sudden i can’t edit my themes or upload pictures..
   although I can still post.
 * Except unlike your error, mine says it failed to open stream: read-only file 
   system in home/blahblahblah
 * .. read only file system?!?!?! And I can’t change my permissions, they won’t 
   let me.

 * I get the same problem on a blog I’ve set up for a mate on his IIS hosting account–
   never had this problem before on Linux.
 * All permissions are set correctly so don’t ask me to check them! I reckon it’s
   something to do with WP being on IIS

 * I’ve just installed WordPress for the first time on IIS and I’m getting this 
   same error when modifying a theme. Has anyone found a solution to this? I’ve 
   got full access to the server so I can make any permissions changes required.
   What should the permissions be set to?
