• Hello, all!

Say, is there any way to insert some text of my own onto the blog’s main layout page? I’ve chosen the 2010 theme … seems easy enough. But, I’d like to have some instructions in bold text for my users on how to register, preferably right between the header and the 1st shown post. Is there a way to do that? I know there’s an “editor” window in settings, but I’m not PHP or CSS savy, so I have no idea how to insert text and be able to put it where I want, if possible.

    Thanx!

  • You’d need to edit the theme’s index.php template and add your text directly to the template file. But be warned that your changes will be over-written the next time you upgrade WordPress or the theme. For this reason, it is recommended that you consider creating a child theme for your customisations.
