• Hi,

I’ve had a mysterious problem for quite a while now (years, actually). My custom theme disappears more or less once a day and is replaced by the default theme. In the Dashboard, my theme is still marked as active and I have to activate another theme and then mine again to get i back.

As mentioned, I’ve had this problem for a long time, spanning several versions of WordPress. I’ve also experienced it with several of my own, home made themes.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour?

  • Only in cases where the theme has 1 or more errors.

If that’s the case I’ve been making the same error over and over again but only on this site… What kind of errors could trigger this?

Same thing here. Must be something wrong with my theme files that I’m editing online, but don’t know what. Style.css is fine, by the way. All the plug-ins are deactivated, but can’t seem to find the culprit. I hope someone knows what could trigger this behavior.

I’ve been investigating this for some time now and found out that the “stylesheet” option in wp_options is changed to “default” after a while (in my case, this is usually less than five minutes after setting my theme).

Now, the problem is, where is the “stylesheet” option set back to default? Any pointers would be appreciated.

Just for the record: Yes, I have tried deactivating all plugins, yes I have reinstalled WordPress. All I haven’t done is wiping the database, but I would like to avoid doing that…

Did anyone ever find the problem? I am having the same issue – I have 60 blogs and the themes have somehow just disappeared twice now leaving me empty sites. Even the default WP themes have gone?
