# Theme Customization help

 * I really have no idea how to pick apart php to create a custom theme. Can anyone
   help me with this or at lease point me in the right direction? I have been so
   grateful for the help I have recieved thus far… Thanks

   bit of help. I know html and css well but Am a bit retarded in my knowlege of

 * If you know HTML/CSS well, then you really don’t need to “pick apart” PHP in 
   order to design your own custom design.
 * What editor are you using? Have looked at the growing list of free [themes.wordpress.net/](http://themes.wordpress.net/)?
   Downloading one of them and modifying it to suit your purposes is a good place
   to start.
 * Another good place to start is reading about [ codex.wordpress.org/Templates](http://codex.wordpress.org/Templates),
   [codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags](http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags),
   [codex.wordpress.org/Category_Templates](http://codex.wordpress.org/Category_Templates)
   and [codex.wordpress.org/The_Loop](http://codex.wordpress.org/The_Loop).

 * You really may have to wait more than 20 minutes before bumping. You just took
   yourself out of the “posts with no replies” list that many volunteers use as 
   a starting place.
