Theme Check is having a lot of issues. It started out OK, but it gave me a lot of errors, and said I needed to enable debug. I finally figured out how to do that, and then it started saying it was out of memory.

I tried expanding the memory in the wp_config file, now when I run Theme Check it comes up totally blank, unless I have debug enabled, then it shows me the plugin bugs I have. If I disable debug it shows a blank white screen.

    Help…. please.

  • Update on the blank screen:

I enabled the debugger in wp_config.php and found that Contact Form 7 and Layers Slider were both missing code with updates from PHP 4 to later versions of PHP. I’ve been unable to figure out how to update the code, but by disabling Contact Form 7 I was able to get the white screen of death to go away on Theme Check.

Now I can go back to debugging the theme, though I suppose I need to learn how to do that.

Unless you’re writing a theme, you don’t need this plugin. It’s not useful for checking themes from other sources. “Divi” is somebody else’s theme, presumably. So, there’s nothing for you to “check” with it.

Theme check is a developers tool. If you’re not developing a theme, you don’t need it at all.

Divi is a theme builder plugin, it creates child themes and allows a lot of customization in building pages. I didn’t start the site, so I don’t know if what was done counts as developing the theme or not, but I imagine it does.

I was recommended Theme Check by the plugin Business Directory, they said my issues with their plugin likely had to do with my theme, so that’s how I got over here.

I eventually gave up on trying to fix the errors in the theme and the Business Directory, but this plugin seems to be functioning as intended. I just don’t know how to fix the errors that it’s showing me. Finding the files to update their code is probably my biggest issue.
