[Theme: Catch Box] pubdate attribute not valid

Hi,

I have used the catch box theme for a site im developing and when i validate the code it says

“Attribute pubdate not allowed on element time at this point.”

<time class=”entry-date” datetime=”2012-08-11T12:20:32+00:00″ pubdate>August 11, 2012</time>

Can someone confirm if i can just delete this attribute? or do i need to replace it with something?
