• Hi,

    strange thing.

I have a multisite, with around 8 sites. All seem to be OK. php7

In Network Admin / Themes I wanted to upload a theme. (I see my themes)
Add new/upload/browse – install now: message is Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again. and nothing happens.

I check via FTP the public_html/wp-admin folder – as I recall plugins and themes must be there, right? (I didnt select any special option when installing years ago)

So folders look like as if they were deleted. But the sites are up and running.

    I am completely lost.

    Any idea please? TIA

    All the best

    Zoltan

  • Themes and Plugins are stored within your wp-content folder, not the wp-admin folder.

    Hope this helps.

Themes are located in <wp base>/wp-content/themes
Plugins are located in <wp base>/wp-content/plugins

When you upload a theme in Network admin, it should show up in there. Maybe there is a permissions issue – themes directory not allowing write access to web server user.

    Hi ThemeSumo and jkhongusc

    Thansk fot taking care,

This may be related to some cPanel related bug(?). I only try to recall as I am not am IT person, just doing my own pages.

    1) I gave ftp access to a developer to wp-content (am I right that its public-html/wp-content? – definitely it wasnt the public_html.
    2) set up deny and allow rules so he could access
    3) I couldnt access the folders any more
    4) gave full access to dev ftp, connected with his account. nothing was there.
    5) deleted the ftp dev account. reset allow rules.

Strange. files must be there but I cannot access at all. Total Commander is set to show hidden files.

Any thoughts guys. I am really out on this.

    Thanks, Zoltan
