Nav menu missing color

I have the 2010 theme and have managed to make quite a few successful changes, but I have somehow lost the black background of the page navigation bar under the header.

I have read the two closed topics on this, have searched the CSS style sheet for h3 markers, nav markers and sidebar markers and can’t seem to find the snippet of code to correct this problem or even better…to change the black bar to a #B40404 bar.
