Hello, I downloaded a theme called the_gig and have been trying to add it to my wp site. However, once I added it and changed over none of the colors, images, etc. would ever show up. It would just be plain text without the css taking affect.

I have made sure that in the index it's using styles.css and the .css is also named that. I'm not really sure what I'm missing so if anyone could give me some ideas I'd appreciate it. If you want to look at the themes code it can be downloaded over at http://www.davereederdesign.com/web.htm (it's the one on the bottom left with instruments and such). I'm not asking to go modifying it..just how to get it to work on my site. Thanks for your time.

all I see on that page link you posted is a standard template for a website, NOT something thats been written for wordpress.

Unless Im not seeing whatever it is you are describing.

    http://strikethis.com

this is all the default stuff. when i open it in the .zip file all the colors and images are there. but once i upload it..broke.

one thing that might be causing it now that i think about it perhaps is it comes with an index.html and a thegig.css. i had to rename it to style.css and index.php for wp to not say it was broke. i changed thegig.css to style.css in the index.php but perhaps i'm missing something else?

You didnt answer my question: Where is a link to your site WITH the theme enabled by you via the presentation menu?

You werent able to answer it because of the following:

    http://www.davereederdesign.com/work/web/thegig/index.html

    Found it.

Thats NOT a wordpress theme. Thats a standard template.

    Please read this:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes

    wordpress themes have specific requirements.

Maybe you ought to contact the author of the template for help on implementing the CSS onto your WP blog.
