Support » Theme: Customizr » the_excerpt on the main page?

  • It seems a few changes ago there was a file named class-content-content.php that you could make this change in to show either the_excerpt or the_content on the main page, this file does not appear to be in the newer version of Customizr. Would anyone happen to know where to make this change on the current version? Also will this ever be an option that’s added to the customization settings for Customizr?

  • Been back as far as 3.0.5 and can’t see that file.

Is it class-main-content.php you might have used?

I thought the same thing, I believe the class-content-content.php disappeared with 3.0.5, the class-main-content.php does not appear to contain the the_excerpt() function however.

    class-content-page.php, class-content-post, class-main-content or class-main-loop looks like the options?

In “class-content-post.php” you can change “the_excerpt” to “the_content” for blog posts, if I’m understanding correctly.

Rustywood, I’d like my main page to show the content instead of the excerpt which it is defaulted to.

Ah it does appear class-content-post.php is the file with this setting now, thank you Rustywood!

Can I copy this file to a child theme or would I need to edit the original?

Someone will jump in and ask you to start your own post !! =)

But yes you can add this file to the child theme!

Sorry, this is the issue I have – wanting the content not the excerpt but I’m using a child theme to customise the template.
