the_date() not showing

Hi –

Another problem I am having at http://www.damonjustisntfunny.com is that the_date() doesn’t show the date for my posts in the MUSIC category in the loop when the post is second or further from the top of the list. Other categories (blog) work fine. If I click on the post permalink to view the single, the date shows up. This only happens with the music category and the same phenomenon is repeated on my local machine (seperate installation and different database).

I have a bit of stuff in my loop for conditional formatting, but I have done some troubleshooting and deleted everything except the title and meta data to see where the problem was and I am getting the same no date results in the music category.
