Hello all, bare with me on this one.

Started to follow this youtube video yesterday, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cbvZf1jIJM&t=1163s. I’ve also installed WordPress in a subdirectory to keep the current website running until it’s finished. I’ve only installed the two recommended plugin’s (Elementor & Ocean Extra(and updated all)). Everything was running ok and I was jumping in & out of Elementor whilst following the video without any issue’s. I’ve then installed one of tylers templates, found how to alter the video (uploaded my own to youtube etc..) but it was when I tried to import an image (into the Media library via Elementor) and the import failed (‘http error’ I think it said) I jumped out of Elementor to import the image again (which worked) but when I tried to edit the page via Elementor again I received the error “sorry the content area was not found on your page” and pointed me to https://docs.elementor.com/article/56-content-area-not-found?utm_source=editor-panel&utm_medium=wp-dash&utm_campaign=learn. From what I read it’s a problem with the theme rather than the plugin? But I don’t understand how to fix it? Can you help, please?

    Thank you for reading

Hello, what page you try to edit? Because this error is when you try to edit an archive page like Blog, Shop, etc… you can’t edit an archive page, in that case, you will need to use Anywhere Elementor.

Just trying to edit a normal page… I created 8 pages but I’ve only been working on the Home page. Also get the same message if I create a new page.

Just tried to Elementor edit another page I’d not touched but that comes up with the same message.

Not trying to edit a blog/shop etc or an archive page

In that case it is a big problem. Have you tried to disable your other plugins to see if there is a conflict? Have you tried to re-install OceanWP? Do you use a child theme? If yes, try with the parent theme.

no child theme, just the standard parent, only two plugin’s running, but I’ve just tried it with ocean extra deactivated, still no joy.

    re-install oceanwp – just a case of remove/install?

    thank you

Yes, just remove OceanWP and re-install, maybe wrong in the first install.
If it still doesn’t work, create a pre-purchase ticket because I will need some information.
