Hi Ryan,
thanks for taking the time to share your experience — we appreciate the feedback even when it’s tough to hear.
We’d really like to help sort this out for you. Could you let us know what specifically isn’t working as expected? For example, are reports not loading, is the consent banner behaving unexpectedly, or is something else going on?
That way we can jump on it right away.
Hi @tronwind
Just wanted to follow up — we heard you, and feedback like yours is exactly why we took action.
We’ve released version 5.4.2, which addresses a number of issues that affected v5.4.1, including tracking, geolocation, consent handling, and server performance. To make sure these kinds of problems don’t happen again, we’ve built a suite of over 350 automated tests that now validate every aspect of the plugin before each release. Please give v5.4.2 a try — you can update through your WordPress dashboard.
We’re confident it’ll be a much better experience, and we’d love to hear how it goes for you.
Hi @tronwind ,
One more follow-up — we’ve just released version 5.4.6, and this one directly addresses the problems that made 5.4.x so painful.
Visitor counts dropping to zero, IPs getting masked without permission, and an unwanted consent banner — we traced all of it back to default settings that changed during the 5.4.0 upgrade. Version 5.4.6 restores pre-5.4 behavior automatically, no manual steps needed.
If you’re running a caching plugin (WP Rocket, W3TC, etc.), clear your cache after updating so the new tracking script is served right away.
After that, visit a few pages on your site and check the Access Log — you should see fresh data coming in. If anything still looks off, let us know and we’ll jump on it.
