The word “Shipment” isn’t translated in checkout
-
Hi! I use WooCommerce on my shop and I noticed in the checkout that the word “Shipment” isn’t translated into Italian (“Spedizione”); I tried using Loco Translate plugin but I don’t find anywhere the word “Shipment” without the translation.
How can I solve this?

Hi @giuliarobert, thanks for bringing this up, I can see how confusing it is when a term like “Shipment” doesn’t get translated at checkout despite using Loco Translate, let’s get this sorted.
What you’re seeing usually happens when the string isn’t coming directly from WooCommerce core translations, but instead from a different source such as a block, theme, or JavaScript-based string that Loco Translate may not detect in the usual way.
Here are a few things to check:
- First, confirm if you’re using the Cart and Checkout blocks. Some strings in block-based checkout are handled differently and may not appear in standard translation files.
- Try searching for both “Shipment” and similar variations like “Shipping” in Loco Translate under:
WooCommerce → Italian WooCommerce Blocks (if present) → Italian - It’s also worth checking your theme translations, as some themes override WooCommerce labels.
- If the string still doesn’t appear, you can use a string override plugin like Say What or add a custom translation filter. This guide may help: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-localization/
If you can share a screenshot of where exactly “Shipment” appears on your checkout page, that would help narrow down whether it’s coming from core, blocks, or a third party source.
Happy to keep digging with you on this 👍
Hi, thanks for your answer.
I checked what you suggested:
1. I think I use the Cart and Checkout blocks, ’cause I use the standard version on WooCommerce
2. Italian WooCommerce Blocks is not present
3. I searched for this term in every theme and plugin to translate it, but I didn’t have much luck.
4. If it’s not strictly necessary, I would prefer not using a plugin.I read in another topic that a recent update of WooCommerce broke out a separate string “Shipment” under the context “shipping packages” – maybe is this the problem?
Hi there!
Thank you for the update.
I’ve checked this on my end and I’m also able to replicate the issue. However, I can see that the text is translatable using the Loco Translate plugin.
Instead of searching for the word “shipment,” could you please try searching for “shipping package”? After that, select the relevant string and translate it.
Please let us know if you’re able to find the string now.
I already tried that, but I don’t seem to find it: searching “shipping package” I find only this

Hi @giuliarobert,
Thanks for sharing the screenshot.
It seems you didn’t click on “Sync” before searching, which is why you’re not seeing the word.
Please click it and give it another go: https://share.zight.com/BluwGQpJ.
I hope that helps. Let us know if you need anything else.
Hi @frankremmy, thanks a lot for your help: the “Sync” click was the missing piece.
Thanks a lot, now I translated it and my checkout feels right again ☺️
Hi @giuliarobert,
Thanks for the update, and I’m really glad to hear that did the trick 😊
Happy we could work through this together and get the translation showing correctly on your checkout.
If you have a moment, we’d really appreciate it if you could leave a review for WooCommerce. Your feedback can help other merchants who might run into a similar issue find the right solution more quickly.
Thanks again for your time, and feel free to reach out if you need anything else!
