Support » Plugin: File Manager » The trial version is useless

  • The whole point of a trial version is to allow the user to test the main features to see whether the product is suitable for their needs.

I couldn’t even do that with this plugin. It displayed a screenshot of the settings. The only thing I was able to do, was to view the files on my server, and it was read-only. The file manager didn’t even display all of the files present on the server. It only displayed the main WP files, with the default themes and plugins. I have way more than that on my server. Useless.

I’m not going to pay $19 to test the full version to see if it works well for my needs. I checked the pricing page and found nothing to say that I could have my money back if I changed my mind. If anything, their pricing page, lack of assurances, etc made it look like a money-grab and invoked a strong feeling of distrust in me.

The least the devs could do is offer a fully-featured trial version for a week before being required to buy a license to continue using it.

I agree Gemma, however it does look like they are taking care of it by the reviews. However, wonder if many of the reviews are for the paid version.
This was not the attitude that WordPress was built on. But the environment is changing rapidly. There are no annual residual payments here and that always scares me when forking out money. Nothing keeping them around when the well dries up.
