• Hi,

As the post title, I found the title field of Reusable Block became unchangeable without a block theme.

Please see the attached screenshots here: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

I understand it has been called Synced pattern to be part of the patterns assembled in Appearance – Editor, via Site Editor Patterns – Documentation – WordPress.org. It’s good to see that, but I’m afraid that the development team has forgotten the compatibility of it since it relied on the normal block editor as a look like a kind of CPT.

There’s nowhere to see the title field appear and can be named but only when Creating a New Pattern (Reusable block). I know the SiteEditor and the whole new related developments are the new trend officially, but please remind there are still plenty of users and designers support Reusable Block by building the web design works with the block editor ecosystem on a non-block theme for the concerns of high customization.

    Thanks,
    Green

  • I believe what you are looking for is a new feature that guarantees this kind of block compatibility between theme types (block based or not). New features are requested via trac:

    https://core.trac.wordpress.org/

I’d also recommend you try the Reusable Blocks Extended plugin. It includes multiple functionalities, some of them related to block editing.

Before the WordPress 6.5 update, Reusable Block titles could be edited without any plug-in. After the 6.5 update, the ability to edit titles disappears from the Reusable Block. I don’t know why a useful and necessary feature was removed.
