  • The support for this plugin is horrible. I had an issue where my cloned website had been reading the database from the demo site (ideally there should have been a database on the cloned site’s server, but I realized later that no database had been uploaded on the cloned just read the database from the website from which I cloned this one).

    When I posted in xloner forums about this issue, the plugin author asked me to purchase premium support for help. Now because the situation was urgent, I agreed to purchase the premium support and emailed the plugin author for alternate payment options (they only have paypal on the site).

    Following are the rates they have for premium support for Xcloner plugin:

      1 month recurring premium support – 9.95 Euros/month
      1 year premium support – 49.95 Euros
      Unlimited Premium support – 99.95 Euros

    Now this is the exact email reply I got from the plugin author:

    “Hi there! We are able to do the restore for you if you plan on getting the one year support package, if we are unable to get your site restored properly, we will refund the payment! We accept credit card payments through 2checkout!”

    So he wants me to pay 49.95 Euros for one year premium support for help with restoring just one site. Why can I not purchase the monthly support for 9.95 Euros and get this done? When I replied his email with this fact I got no further response.

    Why make a free plugin when you’re going to charge a bomb for premium support? Very predatory practices..beware of this plugin as there are too many errors especially related to the database and if you ask for support you might have to shell out a nice thick wad of cash.
