    this is a complete scam

    I also agree.

It seems that Yoast is turned into a money machine.

It is ok to earn money, but do it on an ethical way. This way is definitely not ethical.

I Agree this is a complete scam

Any plugin author can change things and move features to a paid version because they need to earn money to keep there business going nd paying any employees.

So what if you have to pay money for something better. Grow up and pay the fee or go find another free plugin that offers less then what you get with Yoast SEO. What if wordpress.org said we charging a monthly fee to have an account?

Some commercial methods akin to racketeering . As a user, my duty is to warning:
    – New users
    – Authors who take a wrong path

In some way it is ok with me when a company want to earn money of their plugin. But it should then also offer some more, and I simply think they are offering less now.

In a forum like this it might be ok to put ones opinion of a plugin in here. Doing that should not be considered infantile.

I have totally dropped Yoast and jumped to the Genesis framework. I has also the advantage that I am less dependent of certain plugins and I wont be as vulnerable as I think I have been with the last updates of Yoast seo plugin.

If WordPress started to charge a monthly fee the main idea of generating a system with open source would change pretty much, so it is not a reasonable comparison – in my opinion.

    Hi @rocou,

Almost a year has passed since your review. We’ve made a ton of changes to Yoast SEO and would like to invite you to give the plugin a new try.

If you want to learn more about the plugin before installing it, we feel our knowledge base is the best place to start.

    Thanks!
