Support » Plugin: Smush - Lazy Load Images, Optimize & Compress Images » the site has become even slower than before.

I installed the plugin yesterday and had all the pictures compressed. Since then the site has become even slower than before.

What exactly did the plugin do? The images are still stored in JPEG format and background information is still available. The size and data weight of the images has also remained the same.

But the site has definitely slowed down now.

    Why is it?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @anna995,

I had a look at your site and can see that your site uses full sized images instead of thumbnails.
Free version of Smush doesn’t optimize full sized image as these are in most cases not used and the theme and plugins would use default WP thumbnails or register their own ones and use that to reduce the amount of data loaded on the page. Those thumbnails (regardless if they are default WP ones or registered by theme/plugins) are what Smush will process and optimize.

Since then the site has become even slower than before.

Since the images used on your site can’t be optimized by free version of Smush there were no changes made to them, I do see that you are using Lazy Loading that will stop the images from loading right away and only start loading them when they are in the screen view, is this perhaps why it appears that the images are loading slower?

    Cheers,
    Predrag
