My hosting in Mochahost is not able to make wordpress work.

I have installed several times wordpress and they have told me to ask you guys. They say that the following error is not their fault. They say that is wordpress.

I keep on deleting and installing wordpress again and again and I always have the same problem. They use cpanel and can install it with one click still it does not work.

    Please help

    This is the error:

  • Check your server’s error logs. There’s nothing we can really add with an error message that is so generic.

And where are you installing the WordPress? Is it in the main (htdocs / www) folder? Sometime if you install it in a sub folder, the .htaccess has a way of giving that error.

    A little more info please…

Like esmi said, the server logs will give insight if you can find them.

What kind of hosting control panel does your host use? Cpanel? Plesk/Parallels?

Have your tried deactivating all your installed plugins and refreshing the page? If you cannot access admin, you can deactivate all the plugins by renaming the plugins folder to anything you want via FTP. Then, clear cache, refresh and try again.

It’s been my experience that most 500 errors are caused by a bad plugin. If it does not go away after you do the above, then it might actually be a problem with your server and your hosting provider will need to look into it. I have encountered the same errors various times and, so far, it has always been a bad plugin causing the problem. Then, you have to activate them one by one until you reach the one that causes the problem. If you can, just click on the browser’s arrow to go back to the plugin page, deactivate (you might get the 500 error because of the cache, ignore it) and refresh. Then, just delete that bad plugin or leave it deactivated in case an update become available that fixes it.

    Hope this helps. 🙂

It is cpanel at mochahost with softaculous

I deleted everything in the hosting I was fed up with it. Then I installed again a brand new wordpress whiout any plugin or new themes.

This is the wordpress that softaculous provides.

This is what they have told me:
    ____________

May I ask did you try to contact WordPress regarding this matter, and if yes, what was their response?
    __________
It seems this issue is related to a 3rd party application, but not to our hosting service. Unfortunately,
we do not offer free technical support for 3rd party software.

You will need to contact the application vendor/creator of your software for more information on this issue and its usage.

I have also tried with wordpress downloaded from http://www.wordpress.org and I keep on having the same problems

Well, maybe it is time to change a hosting provider then…

Same happened to me. It appeared to be one of the plugins. Quick question at the wordpress backup plugin, what is the community using instead?
