The requested category ID for your comic, 2, doesn't exist!

    Hi there,

    I’m using wordpress 4.1 (upgraded today) and comicpress – silverpress theme.

    Since updating all of these, apparently I have a comicpress-config.php missing and when I try and upload a comic I see the error message:

    It looks like you’re running an older version of ComicPress. Storyline, hovertext, and transcript are fully supported in ComicPress 2.7. You can use hovertext and transcripts in earlier themes by using get_post_meta($post->ID, “hovertext”, true) and get_post_meta($post->ID, “transcript”, true).

    The requested category ID for your comic, 2, doesn’t exist!

    Previous posts have disappeared from the site (le-mime.co.uk) and it looks like the content has changed look and feel.

    I’m really not sure what has happened and how to get everything back up and running. Any help would be much appreciated!

    uhm, yeah .. unfortunately I don’t support old comicpress, if you want to migrate to Comic Easel with new ComicPress I would be happy to help you out with that.

    Hiyah – thanks for getting back to me! I recall you’ve helped me before when I’ve not understood how to tweak things on ComicPress so thank you! T_T

    If you’re able to help me, I would totally and utterly appreciate that. I searched for Comic Easel as a plugin and installed the migration pack but nothing happened – perhaps I missed a step.

    If you have any walk through literature on how to migrate that would be amazing! Thank you (again), I hope to be posting my strips soon!

    You installed CP2CE ?

    Disable Comicpress Manager
    Activate Comic Easel

    Use the dashboard -> tools -> CP2CE section and select a category and click migrate, follow the directions inside the comicpress to comic easel migrator

    … done.

    You should be fine really, if not you can hit me up on facebook messenger and I can be around to walk you through it via the chat and make sure everything goes smoothly.
