    Greetings,

I am encountering the following error message on my client’s Registration page
“The registration form cannot be used because either a username or email field is required to process registrations. Please edit the form and add at least the email field. https://nickalain.com/wp-admin/users.php?page=wpum-registration-forms#/

At first when I checked the Registration forms section of the plugin, there were NO fields at all. So I added some. However, that did not fix the issue.

I also tried rolling back to previous versions of the plugin with no success.

I had also just moved this wordPress website from 1 hosting to another….perhaps something got lost, although I cannot imagine how.

Please help. (Note, I am not a coder, please explain using detailed steps if code edits are required)

    Thank you,
you can email me back at kseniago [at] yahoo [dot] [com]

    Hi @ksengo,

Could you please send me an email at support[at]wpusermanager.com with your site url and a temp admin account so I can have a look at the issue?

    Thank you.

    Hi Alessandro,

Thanks for the prompt reply. Sent you an email with credentials for login. Thank you.

(for anyone reading this, I will post the solution to this problem here after it is hopefully solved, crossing my fingers)

    UPDATE:

It seems this issue was caused by malfunctioning emails (through Google business emails) The admin email (the email that receives registration requests I guess) temporarily stopped functioning (because I had just moved the site from 1 host to anther) After the admin email started working again, the Registration Page came back.

Could be useful to display a different type of message in this situation. For example, blank out the contact form, and write, “CONTACT FORM NOT CURRENTLY CONNECTED” or something. Just a suggestion.

    Thank you for prompt reply,
    Cheers

    Hey @tcartr07,

Apologies for late reply, the WordPress.org forum does not move topics back to the top list when new replies are added to old topics so I’ve missed your reply here.

Regarding the issue, the “fix” it’s always the same. You’re seeing the error because the registration form on your site has not been configured. Within the error message it’s also explained that you can click the link that appears in the message and that will take you straight to the registration form editor.

The minimum required field for the registration form is the email field. Also you can see here in the documentation how to customize the registration form https://docs.wpusermanager.com/article/43-add-fields-to-the-registration-form

    Hope this helps.

Thank you and I changed that review it was my fault I am creating first site on WP, now I have a blank reg form despite shortcode installed. The page was pre-created but I also notice clicking the shortcode creator does nothing I am sure it is a problem on my site.
