“The (real) cast is deprecated…” in quick-paypal-payments.php on line 2564

    With QPP Version 5.7.5, PHP 7.4.11 and WP_DEBUG on, I’m seeing a lot of these messages in debug.log:

    [28-Jan-2021 23:04:37 UTC] PHP Deprecated: The (real) cast is deprecated, use (float) instead in /home/holycowom/public_html/wp-content/plugins/quick-paypal-payments/legacy/quick-paypal-payments.php on line 2564

    Not a big problem but adds lots of “noise” to the file.

    Hi Larry,

    You are totally correct on all counts. When WP_DEBUG is on the all Warnings & Notices are displayed.

    Notices & Warning as you say are not a problem, they are precisely warning & notices and do not impact functionality.

    This plugin was handed to over me around a year ago and at that point was not well maintained.

    I have been gradually clearing up the notices & warning and will continue to do so over time.

    Thanks! I see the “(float)” cast in there now.
