# The problem with saving goods

   this?

 * Thanks for reaching out. It sounds like the product permalink or slug from the
   copied product is being retained after duplicating and saving the product, which
   can happen if the copied product is not generating a new unique slug correctly.
 * To help narrow this down, could you please let us know:
    1. Are you duplicating the product using WooCommerce’s default “Copy to a new draft”
       option, or with a third party plugin?
    2. Does this happen with all products or only specific ones?
    3. Have you tested this after temporarily disabling all plugins except WooCommerce
       and switching to a default theme such as Twenty Twenty-Four?

   2. Happens to all products3.
   The problem started immediately after the WordPress update. Disabled only plugins.

 * Since this is happening across all products after the WordPress 7.0 update, the
   next best step would be to test this on a staging site first, so you can troubleshoot
   safely without affecting the live store during business hours.
 * If a staging site is not available, you can also test directly on the live site
   during a less active time when customer activity is lower.
 * Could you also share a screenshot of what you are seeing on your end using [https://snipboard.io](https://snipboard.io)
   or a short screen recording using [https://loom.com](https://loom.com)? That 
   will help us better confirm the exact behavior with the duplicated product URLs.

 * Apologies for the odd text in the previous message, that was an oversight on 
   our end and shouldn’t have appeared in a public response.
 * Thanks for the screenshot. I tested on my side and wasn’t able to reproduce it:
   [https://streamable.com/loicne](https://streamable.com/loicne), which suggests
   it’s specific to your environment.
 * Looking at your system status, we’d like to start with one targeted test before
   anything else: please temporarily deactivate the “Cyr-To-Lat” plugin and try 
   duplicating a product again. The plugin handles Cyrillic-to-Latin slug transliteration
   and hooks directly into WordPress’s slug generation process, so it may be preventing
   the `-kopirovat` suffix from being replaced when a duplicated product is saved
   with a new title.
 * If that doesn’t resolve it, the next step would be to temporarily deactivate 
   Rank Math SEO as it also hooks into slug handling. So the same for other plugins
   except WooCommerce.
