    From developer page: Checksum mismatch: The contents of the file has been changed and does match what exists in the official WordPress repository or a reference file you’ve uploaded earlier. The file may have been infected by malware or has been tampered with.

    The only clean plugin without issues is …. Cerber Security, Antispam & Malware Scan!

    The problem is not Twenty Seventeen, Twenty Sixteen or any other theme or any other plugin. The problem is Cerber Security, Antispam & Malware Scan.

    That means the plugin works as intended showing the checksum mismatches. Please use a less comprehensive plugin. Ignorance is bliss.

    If it helps anyone else, I had an issue with a checksum error on a file today. It didn’t go away even after reinstalling WP… until I cleared my browser cache and re-ran the scan. Now it’s all good!

    Just posting this in case it helps anyone else having similar issues. First thing you should do if you’re still having problems after following the plugin’s advice is clear your cache!

    Great plugin, 5 stars for my money 🙂

    @gioni,

    It is possible that file’s checksome changed if user uploaded files to the server with FTP client like Filezilla with “ASCII Transfer” mode.

    There are several ways to mitigate this false possitive mismatch.

    Vasyl
