I have been using this plugin for a while with no issues.

But today, once it updated to version 1.1.5, it stopped working.

To put it simply, the plugins button doesn’t work at all.

First it appeared as plain text + button at the footer of my website (similarly to maartjedaems issue: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cookie-bar-looks-off/)

I then went through all of the plugin settings again, making sure that I saved each one.

After doing that, the floating button reappearred.

However, clicking the actually button appears to do nothing whatsoever.

I have gone on to test this out on multiple browsers (both mobile and desktop).

On all of them, the floating button is inert.

And the option to even accept/reject cookies doesn’t even crop up when a visitor first arrives at the website (I’ve tested this by clearing the caches of the browser and by using private browsing options).

    I’ve tested this in the following browsers;

    Google Chrome
    Safari
    Firefox
    Microsoft Edge

I haven’t updated any other plugins in the past 3 days. The only plugin that has updated/changed recently has been this one.

  • The problem can be solved by opening the Settings and saving them again.

Saving the settings again doesn’t solve the problem for me (as I’d already stated in the original post at the top).

Whatever the reason for the GDPR plugins problems, the plugin now also appears to be messing with WordPresses Jetpack visitor tracking system.

My wordpress visitor numbers are suddenly way below that of my Google Analytics tracking numbers.

And in comparing the visitor numbers, I have found that the visitor number discrepancies began right when I began to have GDPR plugin issues.

Once I simply disabled the GDPR plugin completely, the WordPress visitor numbers began tracking evenly alongside GA visitor numbers once again.
