• Apparently an automatically run update to the plugin crashed the page. When I disable the plugin, the site starts working and reinstalling the plugin causes the site to crash again. The plugin must be removed “manually”, because wp-admin is not working.

    Error message:
Call to undefined function cal_days_in_month() in /home/laajalahti/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/inc/class-cron.php:372

    Hi @handeke ,

Thanks for reporting this, and we’re very sorry for the disruption caused by the 5.2.0 update.

This issue was caused by the use of a PHP function (cal_days_in_month()) that isn’t available on all server setups. It was not intentional and only affected a small number of users whose servers didn’t support that function.

We’ve already fixed this in version 5.2.1, which restores compatibility. If your site is still down, removing the plugin via FTP or File Manager is the right step, and then you can reinstall the latest version safely.

Once again, apologies for the inconvenience—and thank you for sticking with us.

    Hi @handeke ,

We’re really glad to hear the latest version resolved the issue for you! Thanks a lot for following up.

If you feel the experience has improved, an updated rating would mean a lot to the team — but more than anything, we’re just happy it’s working well for you again.

Thanks again for sticking with us!
