    Hi,

I have the same problem as earlier user has started topics about here (like markwf and Sufaid for example). I have used Page Builder by SiteOrigin to build the site, and now it is no longer possible to edit different pages with Page Builder by SiteOrigin on this site – I can only use WordPress editor now. The Page Builder tab has disappared. I have deactivated all plugins except for Page Builder by SiteOrigin and SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle, but it didn’t changed anything at all.

I guess this problem has started for several months ago and that it has happened when WordPress has been auto-updated. I now use WordPress v.5.9. (I have Page Builder by SiteOrigin v.2.16.4).

I hope you have a solution that can help!!
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi G

    Thanks for reaching out.

Page Builder uses JavaScript. If there is a JavaScript error on the page, it’ll break any functionality that also makes use of JavaScript. Please, try extending your baseline test.

    – Temporarily deactivate all plugins except for the Widgets Bundle and Page Builder.
    – Temporarily switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen.

In that state, does the issue persist?

    Hi Andrew,

    Thank you for your reply!
I have now deactivated all plugins (except for the Widgets Bundle and Page Builder) and also switched to theme Twenty Nineteen, but the problem persits.

Please, note – the website looks like it has for a very long time, so it is nothing wrong with the look of the webiste for visitors. The problem is that when I want to edit this site in wp admin, I can no longer find or use the Page Builder by SiteOrigin – the Page Builder tab has disappared from all pages (except for 1 or 2 pages)!

I have two other websites (and also copies of these two websites) built in the same wp-theme and with Page Builder by SiteOrigin – and on these two sites (even the copies of these two sites) the Page Builder by SiteOrigin works fine.

Thanks for testing. Do you still see a Visual and Text tab when editing the page?

    Hi again,

    Thank you for your reply!
This is what it looks like now when I edit a page (see the links below):

If I choose “Block” when I edit a page I can see the ‘SiteOrigin-layout’-icon and if I hold the mouse over this icon it looks like this (see the image on the link below):

If the page was built in the Classic Editor it can’t be auto-migrated into the Block Editor. What happens if you install and activate the Classic Editor plugin?

    Hi again Andrew,

Thank you so much for your reply!
Ok, I see! I did as you suggested – I installed and activated the Classic Editor plugin. And it actually worked pretty well – now I have the option to switch to Siteorigin page builder again, but the page for visitors is not always getting “perfect” and I think it depends on if I have used another widget than the “Siteorigin Editor widget” from the beginning (if I have used the “Siteorigin Editor widget” from the beginning it’s no problem) … but regardless, I have all the text and can only make a few adjustments to get the page to look good again, so I think this will be absolutely great!! I am very, very happy about this solution, because now I can use Siteorigin Page Builder again!!

Very good!! Thank you so much for all your help!! Awesome!! Thank you!!

Thanks for the update and your kind words. I’m glad to hear you’ve made progress 🙂

If you need a hand troubleshooting the issue in question, please, let me know. If a page was developed in the Block Editor, it ideally should be manually migrated to the Classic Editor. I’m here for any follow-up queries you may have.

    Thanks again.

    Hi again Andrew,

Thank you so much for your reply!
I have not developed the page in the block editor – from the beginning I have only used Siteorigin Page Builder. And sometime along the way the site automatically changed to the block editor and I guess it has happened due to wordpress auto-updates ….

I have now fixed the different pages manually in Siteorigin Page Builder – it was a bit trickier than I first thought, because I have used different widgets i Siteorigin Page Builder. But now everything with the website is ok again and I can now use Siteorigin Page Builder the next time I edit – and I’m so happy for that!! 🙂

Again, thank you so much for your help!! It meant a lot!! Thanks!! 🙂

    Thanks for the update.

Page Builder should maintain pages in the Classic Editor without the need for the plugin. Unfortunately, it’s hard to know what sort of error disrupted that behavior—apologies for the hassle.

Sorry to hear it took a bit longer than expected to recover. I’m glad your pages are back to normal now.

If any queries or requests arise in the future, please, let us know.

    Cheers for now.

    Andrew
