Support » Plugin: Gmedia Photo Gallery » The only gallery plugin you will need

  • I have tested loads of gallery plugins: NextGen, Flagallery, Foo, Modula, Gallery Master, …
None of them get close to the ease of use, power and professional results of Gmedia.
A lot of them are not bad, but either the resulting galleries look like 90s stuff or they have an unfriendly interface with badly organized settings.

I know nothing about coding and I needed a plugin that allowed me to be creative with an easy interface, but still a lot of options. With the modules available, you can get super professional galleries with few clicks.

Once you understand the workflow it gets super fast. In my case I upload pictures, assign them to an album, add the album(s) to galleries (add new tags if need be) and publish the gallery in a page.

Things that I really like about Gmedia:
    – You get a live preview of your gallery on the same page while you edit it!
    – You can switch the module of a gallery (Several templates available) and preview the result before even saving it
    – You can save all the settings of a gallery and recall them! (Module Presets)
    – Fast and smart support. You can feel that the guy or the team behind this plugin genuinely want to make you satisfied and keep improving their product. They do update the plugins on a regular basis.
    – The management of the images is just the best I found. Very powerful filters and actions that really helps when having a large number of images.
    – With some modules, you can easily integrate audio and video to your galleries.
    – Unlike other plugins, I haven’t noticed any display or script bug when I visit my galleries on PC, Mac, IOS or android, it all looks fast and smooth.
    – When I export photos from Lightroom, all my photos have several keywords and when I import them into Gmedia I actually find the same tags readily available. Gmedia can also display EXIF info.

When I started to create my first galleries and trying the different modules and settings, I discovered a lot of new possibilities that I helped me dramatically improve the look of my galleries. And you know as you get more creative, you become greedier with functionality ;-). So I got stuck few times with some options that I could not find to tweak the galleries and make them look exactly the way I wanted. I created few new topics in the forum area and the guy came back to me within a day with some lines of CSS code that I simply had to copy to the Custom CSS field of my galleries. And BAM, my galleries appeared just the way I wanted them to! Again for a person who doesn’t know anything about coding, that is magic!

Bottom line, if you need a robust gallery plugin with great and easy management, I would definitively recommend you to get the Premium package. I got 2 licenses for 40$ (one-time fee) and that includes all future updates and a great support.

Not sure the developer(s) will see that, but I would like to take advantage of this review to report few things that could be improved: (unless it’s me who didn’t get how to use them)

    1. In library: When filtering by tags, I could not find an option to select all pictures that don’t have a tag (albums and categories have this option)
    2. In library: Is there a way to manually select multiple pictures, like you would do in Windows with SHIFT or CTRL key?

Thanks and keep up the good work!

Thank you very much. It’s one of the most awesome review. I’ll try to add requested features in the near future.
