Hi there –
I’m so sorry we somehow missed your question – have you been able to resolve the issue and create a successful backup yet? If not, please post back with a bit more complete information and I’ll be happy to walk you through additional troubleshooting, okay?
Kat
Hi Kat,
I have a couple of pages in a particular hosting, which is not the plugin.
It powered by Php 7.
The plugin makes ela backup the database, but how do you give the backup of the database and files, it begins but never ends.
Al
This means that the backup is hanging. Separate your backups into ‘database-only’ and ‘files-only’ instead of complete backups. This will allow you to put less load on your server.
If the files-only backup still has trouble completing (just hangs without ever completing) then temporarily exclude the wp-content directory and see if that allows a backup to complete. If so, you’ve confirmed that the backup is timing out (usually because of some setting on your server).
Let me know what you find – there are a few options to help override those settings, but they won’t work for all servers because sometimes they have hard limits in place.
Thanks,
kat
Thanks katmoody
The plugin work with database only and the files only but exclude wp-content,
but I need to include wp-content……I don’t know how to solve it!
THx!

Okay – so what is happening is your backup is running into a server limit as it is trying to run the files backup. To counter that, you need to consider splitting up your backup.
Here’s an article on how to use the excludes functionality to set up alternate schedules so you can reduce the load on the server: https://bwp.hmn.md/support-center/troubleshooting/splitting-backup-workload/
You can also try to update your php.ini settings to try and counter limits that might be on the server.
In your php.ini (If you’re not sure how to make changes to your php.ini, your host may have more information to help you.) try making sure the following values are set to at least these minimums. If you have a large site think of increasing them further. (Contact your host to find out if they enforce PHP or CPU max timeouts).
– memory_limit = 256M
– max_execution_time = 120
– max_input_time = 120
Let me know what you find out by trying these things, okay?

Anyone else having this issue please start a new topic on the support forums, okay?
Thanks so much and I’m going to mark this resolved pending further notice.
