Support » Plugin: wpDataTables - Tables & Table Charts » The Lite version is not even a demo

There are several dozen free or simple solutions to adding a table or chart to a WordPress site not including just importing your data directly from a spreadsheet. The one thing that is really appealing about wpDataTables is it’s claims of being able to pull data from any MySQL database like the WordPress database your data is going to be coming from and synced to. But that’s the one feature that is hidden behind a Paywall and which you can’t test!

It seems a little unfair to rate this plugin so low but the simple fact is that we can’t access the features that would make this plugin different from all the others. If there was a trial period or a limit on how many database queries you can make or how many tables you can access in the Lite version then that would actually allow developers the chance to test the functionality on a custom database. I would be more than happy to buy a licence if I knew it was compatible with the site I’m developing.

  • Hello @rgtbstbw45h54ty45y35

The full version works perfectly with MySQL and the other data sources as fully documented. As a user I recommend you do not mess about and pay for the Plugin and enjoy all the features. Easy to set up and extract data and that is always the end game.

Just my comment but this plugin has solved all my table problems and presents the tables in easy to read formats.

Hello there, thank you for your honest opinion.

We’re sorry that you’re not satisfied with the amount of features offered by the Lite version of the plugin. However, we have to agree with you that it is a little unfair to leave a 1-star rating without ever contacting us here, on wordpress.org, or on our support platform, where we could’ve explained all features and limitations of the plugin – both for Lite and full version; especially when the Lite’s description clearly states that MySQL query based tables are not included in the lite version.

We do have a “15-day money back guarantee” if you purchase the full version of the plugin, and also a fully functional sandbox where you can test all plugin’s features online, without having to pay anything, and we would’ve gladly conveyed that information to you if you reached out to us through comments or our ticketing platform.

    Kind regards.

P.S. @alexanderweb thank you for your support once again.
