Support » Plugin: WebP Express » The images are not indexed, can it be related to the plugin?

  • Hi dear

Although it is true that my website is new (1 month) I can see that some posts are already indexed, but when I look in google in the images section with I can see that there is no indexed images, I do something strange.

Could it be related to the use of the plugin or its configuration?

I’ve been using WebP Express since I started the website.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

My best guess is that Google loves webp, and will reward you, and that their engine is perfectly capable of indexing the images. WebP Express adds the “Vary” header, which Google should pick up on.

That said, I must admit that I have done no testing.

I see that your site no longer serves jpegs as webp, so I guess you got worried? I also see that Google now returns three images, when doing an image search for “”. But I also note that there are more than three images on your site… It could indicate that Google doesn’t necessarily index the whole site with all images in first go. But I am just guessing here. My SEO knowledge is limited.

Are there any one else who can shine a light on this?

Hi, I deactivated the plugin temporarily because I was worried (this site is not being easy to index).

Actually I think that the Sitemap plugin I was using could be the cause of the problem, the site is not indexing without sending a manual Sitemap to webmasters tools.

Perhaps the problem is that the Sitemap is not being generated correctly with WebP Express.

I really don’t know. But there seems to be some kind of conflict.

    Thanks for support

I don’t think it is likely that a Sitemap plugin has problems with WebP Express. But for the record, which plugin do you use for sitemaps?
