Support » Plugin: Adaptive Images for WordPress » The .htaccess file is not updated (it is, but I have later revoked permissions)

The plugin shows the “The .htaccess file is not updated” error message, even though I had given the permission to the file, saved all settings with no problem, then later revoked the permission. The plugin wants to have access to the file at all times, but I cannot do so under the host that I have.

Could another check be devised that looks at the content of the instructions on .htaccess to see if they match the current options? Since this is a rather “expensive” operation, this check could also be made to run only on the plugin’s settings page, not on every admin page.

    Hello, there,

You are right about this, the plugin should not be constantly checking whether the .htaccess file is writable or not. Just the plugin settings page should suffice. This is going to be fixed in the next version of the plugin.

    Cheers,
    Takis
