The eyeball view is not working for me. It is grayed out and says “Marks are disabled in the current view”.

They used to not be gray, but when I would click it it was supposed to highlight the problem in the writing window but it never did.

I’m using Firefox browser BTW. Up to date. What could be the problem?

Marks are disabled in Text mode. Please switch to the Visual tab.

Ok, I see that. They’re not disabled in Visual. But when I click it, the eye turns purple but I don’t see anything marked in the text.

I have the same problem as AV8NLVR.

Does anybody know where is the problem?

I still haven’t been able to get it to work.

@av8nlvr Sometimes strange behavior may be caused by a plugin or theme conflict. The fastest way to rule out conflicts is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Sixteen. If this resolves the issue, you have a conflict and should activate one plugin at a time until you locate the conflict. Finally, after all plugins are active, switch to your theme. This will narrow down the conflict to a specific plugin or theme.

If you are unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we wrote a small guide that will walk you through the steps. You can find it here: How To Check For Plugin Conflicts
