  • Hey Guys,

I have a quick question regarding premium themes and the ease of editing them..

Do they provide a more detailed theme options settings so you can just edit things you want easily? Like the logo/header graphic. The main picture/graphic in some etc.

Or do you really need to know a bit about css etc to get into the file and edit those things? How easy is it. For complete beginners? cheers. Thank you

  • It really depends on the theme – you’d need to ask the developer. It’s not a generalization that’s accurate between free and commercial themes. But one thing for sure is that commercial themes are not supported here, so if you purchase one, make sure it will be supported.

Ok thank you, i guess i meant to ask is there a certain description for themes like that, by your answer im guessing it is possible then to have really easily edited themes?

But when looking at themes you see some are responsive I know what that means, is there a world or general description for the a theme that is editable like i have described above? Thank you!

    anyone cheers

No, there is no single description – other than possibly something like “many theme options.” You can generally see what options are in a theme by reading the description of the theme — or for free themes, testing them out (easy to do), or for commercial themes — ask the developer/vendor about it.

A couple of free themes that I happen to know have lots of built-in options and good support:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/suffusion

    http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/weaver-ii

But there are no doubt many others…

[BTW, please do not “bump” here – it’s against the forum rules]
