 * Hi, please check out the following blog post and video for the correct email 
   settings: [How to setup administrator and user emails](http://www.planso.net/how-to-setup-administrator-and-user-emails/)
 * Additionally you may want to check if the emails sent are accidentally marked
   as spam.
 * If this still does not work you should install a plugin like [Easy WP SMTP](https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/).
   This is especially necessary if your webserver is not apache.
