Support » Plugin: Theme My Login » The developers now charge annual fees for the functions that used to be free.

  • Do not update the plugin. This plugin used to be a great plugin which non-profit websites as well could use without being charged annual fees. The developers had reached hundreds of thousands of sites that rely on its functionality. Then they removed all the features which used to work fine, and they made them “paid extensions”. Saying “pay for my extensions that you already had for free” is unethical in my point of view. Not updating the plugin is an option, to keep it working as it used to work. However, this also means that it will not have any updates in the future and will not be supported any more to maintain the compatibility with new versions of wordpress and/or other plugins. I wish the developers made “free version” and “paid version” as seperate products, without putting the users in such a dissapointing situation.

    Hi @uckunb,

We’re disappointed to hear that you don’t see the value in the plugin, but would like to point out that the plugin does still indeed live up to it’s name. It still allows your users to login, register and recover their passwords, all from within the comfort of your theme, all for free!
