The design is completely unreadable (white text)

  • Hi there,

    I have just installed the Disqus plugin to my wordpress template. Now the plugin itself seems to work fine, but the appearance of the plugin is completely ruined. The comments are not visible, because the text is white, and all of the buttons are a really light tint of grey and almost not possible.

    Maybe the design of the plugin is interfering with the .css files of my wordpress template? I have no idea what the problem is. I would like to change the design of Disqus myself, so I can shape it in the same style as the rest of my WordPress template.

    Hope somebody can help me out!

    Kind Regards,
    Twan

  • I found this bit of code and it actually solved my problem, the white text is now changed to visible black text.

    #disqus_thread { color: #000; }

    Although when I choose any other hexcode than #000 Disqus automatically changes my text color to white again. I would actually like to make the text color dark grey. Is there an option to work around this?

    (maybe) try

    #disqus_thread { color: #434343!important; }

    You need to go back to disqus.com, and modify the settings of the site to use the “For light backgrounds” color scheme.
