    I’m using IWP on many sites and today I got notification for one of the site was down. WP cannot connect to the database. When I checked the error_log and there are many errors like the one below:

    [21-Aug-2018 00:35:20 UTC] WordPress database error Server shutdown in progress for query SELECT option_value FROM wp_options WHERE option_name = 'iwp_client_maintenace_mode' LIMIT 1 made by require('wp-blog-header.php'), require_once('wp-load.php'), require_once('/home/blacktu/public_html/wp-config.php'), require_once('wp-settings.php'), do_action('init'), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, call_user_func_array, iwp_mmb_plugin_actions, get_option

    I have to disable the Infinite WP client plugin for now to investigate more on what’s going on here.

    Cheers,
    Minh

    Hi Minh,

    WordPress database error Server shutdown in progress

    The above error might occur because of a MySQL restart. The error that was logged was most likely because IWP admin panel tried querying your WordPress site to check for the maintenance mode at that time your MySQL server is restarted.

    Which version of MySQL are you using?
    There is an old MySQL bug that used to do this but it was fixed in versions 5.6.15 and above which is also what we recommend to have or above.

    Likewise, with PHP we do recommend to have at least 5.6 and higher even though our minimal is set to 5.3.3 version.
