• As somebody who runs a WordPress site that is a relatively high profile target for hackers and spammers, I’ve tried just about every WordPress security solution. When you’re subjected to large scale attacks, local solutions aren’t enough – you need a good remote firewall. CloudFlare didn’t do much at all, and while Incapsula drastically reduced the scale of attacks, it didn’t eliminate them completely, so they just kept upping the ante until they eventually DoSed me again.

Sucuri however has features that really do block the attacks completely, They don’t have a free plan like CloudFlare and Incapsula, but the cheapest one is only $10 a month, and it has features that will cost you hundreds with them. If you’re subjected to these sorts of attacks, it’s the best $10 you’ll ever spend.

You will need to keep an eye out for false positives when you first install it (particularly if you have URLs with non-English characters), but their logging makes this easy to do, and their support is VERY responsive in solving problems. In short, I can’t recommend this service highly enough.
