• Five stars simply to counter all the one star reviews from people who just don’t want any change. How cowardly boring.

Even though Gutenberg is far from perfect, it will open up a whole new world for theme and WP developers. And by standardizing content blocks it will lay a common foundation for page and site builders which so far reside in lock-in silos w/o content portability.

I am really looking forward to the vast new possibilities that Gutenberg will open up for all of us.

  • @thomascloer I want changes, but only if they improve my experience as a website developer. If it brings me the need for more clicks (which affects my wrists’ health), if it makes me struggle to make my websites work, if it makes me lose time, then I don’t want such change. The product isn’t good because it does what you said – it creates a “standard” that makes it harder for developers to create new things. That’s why it should come as a plugin, not… as the standard editor.
