# Textpattern to WordPress

 * I have recently moved away from TextPattern – while it was lightweight, I longed
   for XMLRPC again, as well as various other features. Friends nagged me it was
   the way to go, and when I saw there was a TextPattern conversion, I was pumped.
   
   However it doesnt work, thats the sad thing for any refugee who wants to get 
   away from WP – I have however fixed up / tuned up the import file. Is there a
   good way to submit it? Make it public? I added the category import/article category
   support so now instead of importing everything from TextPattern into General,
   it imports into its specific category in WP – however I did not include multipul
   category support – just the primary category 1. If anyone is interested – or 
   WP would like to add this to the distrobution: [http://www.charlesabrown.com/import-textpattern.txt](http://www.charlesabrown.com/import-textpattern.txt)
   There it is. I just imported 350+ posts and all my comments over sucessfully 
   without issue. YMMV – hope this helps someone!

 * Dude, 1 way you could have helped was to have a better topic reader! TextPattern
   to WordPress… 🙂

   some decent sleep (too many hours awake to think too clearly, I’ll use that as
   my excuse for the topic).
