• Hello everyone,

I am totally new with WordPress and I like it so far. I do have a question where I did not yet found the solution to it. I would like to add a textblock. When I go to plugins and assign a text block to a region that is working but when I want to type text with a link to a page I get stuck. I know this can’t be to difficult yet I didn’t find it.
Is here anyone who can help me with this?

    Thanks in advance.

Could you please describe exactly what you’re doing and where you’re doing it, as well as how you “get stuck” and how you expect it to behave differently?

Please be as specific as possible, we’re entirely text-based here, so we need you to pain an accurate picture for us. 🙂

    Hi MacManX

First I wanna thank you for your swift reply. What I want to do is the following:
I want to highlight new products that draw the attention of the visitors of the website. I was thinking of making a block where I type some text with a link Read more to the specific page. I also want it to appear on every page of the website. I am using the theme cyberchimp and I added textblock to a region on the homepage. I can enter the text but I cannot select some text and make a link of it.

    Thanks

Ah, ok, that makes sense. 🙂

The Text widget accepts standard HTML, so you just need to enter it like this:

    <a href="URL">Title</a>

    For example:

    <a href="http://wordpress.org">WordPress</a>
