Text Widgets disappear after Saved

    I have been a user of WP for about 5 years and was able to solve most problem within 1 day or 2 days.

    Now for 1 week I am really puzzled. I have 2 WP installation in one commercial server. The second site has no problem in text widgets. However the websites, need monthly update in text widget. Special offer for April. The first website – no problem. On the second website, everytime I save the text widget (containing HTML codes), it got saved. If there is only one short HTML, frequently it get posted successfully. However I noticed that after refreshing the webpage several times, my text widget will disappear. The first text widget will also diappear if I add another text widget. If the HTML codes is long, it will most likely disappear immediately after saving.

    1. First I suspect the plugins. Killed all, but the dispappering act of text widgets still happened
    2. Then I suspect it is the theme. I use theme with 3 columns, 2 sidebars and one mid column for posts (see pmhub.net). From using Atahualpa I use Publish News and another 2 columns theme, still the same problem with Text Widgets
    3. searched through the forums – some similar case years ago and recently. I tried an interesting solution, using SCREEN OPTION then clicking: Enable accessibility mode. Still the same
    4. the other Text Widgets problems – either have no solution or not related to mine.

    In my other website, I use exactly the same code in the text widgets and with mostly same plugins and same theme, all works pretty well.

    I will appreciate it very much for a helping hand in this problem

    Sounds like either a plugin conflict or a code change that has been applied on the other site.

    Disable all plugins. Try again. If it happens, there might be something else.

    Yes, I have done that. I killed all the plugins. Still the same. In fact I have written this in the original post as no 1:

    1. First I suspect the plugins. Killed all, but the dispappering act of text widgets still happened

    after more than 2 weeks I decided to just have another WP installation and import posts etc..

    Now Text Widgets are working fine. I still do not know why after 5 years suddenly Text Widgets decided to go AWOL…. bugs due to latest WP update?
