 * Version 2.3.1
    Since upgrading, I have not been able to use any shortcuts when
   editing a text widget. I have links that are updated everyday in a text widget.
   I cannot Highlight (using the mouse), or using Ctrl+A, cannot copy any of the
   contents either.
 * I can however using the backspace and delete key to remove text, then use ctrl
   +p .
    It is only within the Text Widgets that this is happening. Before selecting
   a widget to edit – all functions work properly. I am using IE 7 – this does not
   happen in FireFox. So I am assuming it has something to do with the coding that
   needs to be IE7 specific? I really am the odd duck here and prefer using IE7.
 * This is something directly between wp 2.3.1 and IE7 because I’ve installed wordpress
   on another site default theme only and still the same problem.
 * This is the same for all of the admins on my blog. They cannot edit via IE7 or
   Aol (which uses IE).
 * If anyone could shed some light, I would appreciate it.

 * That has happened to several people including myself. It would be good to get
   an answer to the problem. In the meantime, if I have a lot of text to change,
   I use FF. Otherwise I just backspace and paste.

 * Geez – I was hoping for a better way too –
 * Oh well.
 * Where is the content of the tesxt widget stored? Can I edit it there?

 * Just for reference, “me too”s are usually frowned upon around here. Why? Because
   when people look over the forums, they see that this thread has been replied
   to and will skip over it. That means that phred42 may not have received an answer
   since it looks like you kmessinger have giving them the assistance that they
   requested.
 * Make sure you’ve run the upgrade for IE7 as this was a problem reported a few
   months ago with the brwoser. You may be using an older version of IE. What specific
   version of the browser are you using? (Help -> About Internet Explorer for the
   full version I believe.)
 * Also try logging out and clearing your browser’s file and cookie cache. You may
   still have the older copies of the javascripts loaded into your browser’s cache
   and it may be causing a conflict.
 * Hope this helps

 * Thank you for responding theapparatus –
    IE7 has the latest update installed.
 * I can edit posts (using short cuts like ctrl+c/a/v etc), pages, themes, css –
   using shortcuts if I choose to.
 * It’s only the text widget that is affected. I cannot use my mouse to highlight
   text, I cannot use ctrl+c to copy or ctrl+a to select all. I can however use
   the delete button or backspace button to remove content from the widget.
    I can
   also use ctrl+v to paste. That’s it.
 * In Firefox it works fine, before the upgrade to 2.3.1 it worked fine in both.
 * Things I have ruled out
    1. My computer – because this is the same for all that
   have access to edit the text widgets. 2. Server – I have recently switched to
   another server – same problem. 3. I’ve run fresh installs with Fantastico – I’ve
   also run the install myself. – same problem.
 * I’m not code savvy lmao so I’ve no idea where the problem lies.
